Common Nutrition Myths Debunked

By YBQRPC | Nutrition & Health

Carbs Are Not The Enemy

Carbohydrates have been unfairly demonized. Your body runs on glucose, making carbs your primary fuel source. The issue is type, not carbs themselves.

Complex carbs from whole grains, vegetables, and legumes provide sustained energy and nutrition. Simple carbs from sugar and refined flour cause problems.

Eating Fat Doesn't Make You Fat

Dietary fat doesn't automatically become body fat. Excess calories from any source cause weight gain. Fat is essential for hormone production and nutrient absorption.

Healthy fats from fish, avocados, and nuts support health. The type of fat matters more than the amount.

Breakfast Isn't Mandatory

The "most important meal" concept lacks strong evidence. Many people skip breakfast and function perfectly well. What matters is overall daily nutrition, not specific meal timing.

Eating when hungry and stopping when full matters more than specific meal times or breakfast consumption.

Detox Diets Don't Work

Your liver and kidneys already detoxify continuously. Expensive cleanses and teas provide no benefit your body doesn't already achieve.

Supporting natural detoxification means eating well, staying hydrated, and avoiding excess alcohol and processed foods.

Organic Isn't Necessarily Healthier

Organic produce may have lower pesticide residue but isn't necessarily more nutritious. Both organic and conventional produce provide similar vitamins and minerals.

Eating more produce, regardless of how it's grown, matters more than choosing organic.
